14112015bKUALA Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) has launched a dedicated portal to promote bumiputra property units offered by developers in the city.

Federal Territories Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor who launched the website www.dbkl.gov.my/pkub at the DBKL headquarters in Jalan Raja Laut said the portal was to help inform buyers that there are many bumiputra lots still unsold in Kuala Lumpur projects.

“We want people to know that there are many units still available in the market,” Tengku Adnan added.

“Many developers who found it hard to find takers for the units have approached me to let the lots be sold to non-bumiputra. So we hope this portal will help people who are thinking of owning properties,’’ he said.

He added that this year, 372 bumiputra units had been let go despite extensive promotions done to inform the public.

“Interested buyers can log on to the website to find out the locations, size, price and information pertaining to the developers.

“We also hope bumiputra companies can come forward to buy the lots and help spur the economy,’’ he said.

Bumiputra lots relate to bumiputra quota that are imposed by the Government on the housing developer for each development. In most cases, 30% of all houses are set aside to be sold to bumiputra at a 7% discount.
